Employee Spotlight: Farra Kay

Manager, Outbound Sales | 6 Years at TouchBistro

Farra Kay

In a sentence or two — what do you do here at TouchBistro? How has your role/department evolved over the years?

I’m the Outbound Sales Manager for North America! I celebrated my 6th year anniversary on August 7th. I started as a SDR (Sales Development Rep), promoted to MDR (Market Development Rep), then Inbound Account Executive, then TAE (Territory Account Executive), then Senior TAE, and then Inbound Canada Sales Manager! It’s been a wild 6 years of growth!

What makes TouchBistro special to you?

The people! We have an incredible culture here and hire driven, motivated, collaborative, caring, and amazing people. I’ve met my best friend and my husband here, so it’s pretty amazing!

What inspires you about the future of the restaurant industry?

I’m a huge foodie and it’s incredible seeing the innovation that amazing chefs and restaurateurs are bringing forward.

In your opinion, what sets TouchBistro apart from other companies in the industry, and how do you see us continuing to lead in the future?

Touchbistro really strives to put their customers first and ensure  they’re taken care of. As a company, we care about the independent owners who strive to grow their business and I think that separates TouchBistro from other companies in the industry that are processing first.

What aspect of your role at TouchBistro brings you the most satisfaction and fulfillment, and why?

For me, it’s the people’s development. Being able to lead and inspire people, help them grow their sales careers, and truly succeed and earn. It’s the best part of being a leader here.

How do the core values of TouchBistro contribute to the success of your projects?

There are so many aspects that go into the success of our projects, like cross collaboration between departments and respect. Everyone is working towards one common goal, which is what truly allows  us to thrive.

Can you share a memorable experience or interaction you’ve had with a restaurant owner or staff member that made you proud to be part of the hospitality industry.

I actually used to be a Territory Sales Rep at TouchBistro and I was able to sell to my favorite Mexican restaurant near my house. And since then, the owners and I have become friends, I’m invited to their grand openings, and we have maintained an awesome relationship. I’ve brought my family there and they always take care of us. It was such a cool experience.

In your opinion, how does your personal connection to the restaurant industry enhance your understanding and dedication to TouchBistro’s mission and goals?

I actually worked in the restaurant industry for 12 years before joining TouchBistro, as cook, server, bartender, and GM, so I have a deep passion for the industry. By working somewhere that truly helps restaurant owners succeed and grow has been a continuation of my respect for the industry.

What’s your go-to comfort food or guilty pleasure snack?

I am obsessed with Ramen and Pho, which I have a minimum of once a week.. It’s 100% my comfort food.. Otherwise, get me in front of some shared plates and a glass of good wine, and I’m the happiest person in the world.
